Southeastern Baseball Facilities

Home of the Lions
Alumni Field - Home of the Lions
Since opening day of 1992, the Southeastern Louisiana baseball program  has been able to call Pat Kenelly Diamond at Alumni Field, consistently named one of the best stadiums in the conference, state and region, its home.

Alumni Field, which has hosted the 1992 Trans America Athletic Conference Championship as well as the 2004 Southland Conference Championship, has undergone a series of aggressive makeovers in the past few years.

Prior to the 2003 season, a new scoreboard was installed, featuring an LED message center and a wireless console. The outfield fence was also upgraded, and new foul poles were placed down the foul lines.

The field underwent a massive upgrade before the 2006 campaign.  New Bermuda Tifway 419 sod replaced the old grass, and concrete was poured in front of the dugouts.  Rainouts are infrequent at Alumni Field, as as a complex drainage system, installed in the outfield in 2003, can drain the playing surface within 20 minutes.

Crowds of more than 3,000 can be accommodated, with crowds in excess of 3,500 in attendance for recent matchups with nationally-ranked opponents such as LSU, Tulane and Southern Miss.
Southeastern baseball enjoys a tremendous home field advantage at Alumni Field as fan support made the Lions the 2006 and 2007 Southland Conference attendance leaders.

“I believe this is one of the nicest facilities in south,” Southeastern coach Jay Artigues said.  We have a lot of plans underway to make sure that we keep adding to it and improving.  Our goal is to make sure Alumni Field remains one of the best fields in college baseball.”

In its first 15 years of operation, the Lions have played to a 275-198 record (.581 win %) at Alumni Field.

The Southeastern Louisiana University baseball program also has access to some of the best support facilities in the region.

In addition to Alumni Field, the Southeastern Athletics training and conditioning facility as well as the baseball program’s clubhouse and players lounge areas have seen extensive renovation.  As a result, the Lions are equipped with the latest strength training, conditioning and treatment facilities in the country to go along with some big league claiber creature comforts.

The new players’ lounge and clubhouse features handcrafted wooden lockers, a state-of-the-art sound system, leather sofas and chairs as well as a big screen TV.

Meanwhile, the expanded training facility provides all Lion student-athletes with top-of-the-line treatment and conditioning equipment.
