Brooke Boening joined the Southeastern Louisiana softball coaching staff In
September 2017. Boening primarily works with the Lady Lion pitching staff.
Boening comes to Hammond after spending the previous two seasons on the staff at the University of Rhode Island. During her time at URI, she worked with Atlantic 10 Conference All-Rookie team pitchers Sarah Gunderson and Rebecca Rogers.
Boening began her coaching career as a volunteer assistant coach at her alma mater, Northwestern State. In her season on the Lady Demon coaching staff, she worked with Southland Conference Pitcher of the Year Mikayla Brown and helped NSU lead the Southland Conference in ERA (1.19) and opposing batting average (.213).
Boening pitched for NSU from 2010-13 and helped the Lady Demons to a Southland Conference Tournament championship and NCAA Regional appearance as a senior. She posted 384 strikeouts and a 3.30 ERA during her time in Natchitoches and also served as the vice president of the Northwestern State Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).
A native of Floresville, Texas, Boening earned her bachelor’s degree in health and exercise science in 2013 and earned a master’s in health and human performance with a concentration in sport administration in 2015.
