Hammond - The Southeastern Louisiana University men's and women's cross country teams will once again push their season-opening meet back as, according to Southeastern head coach
Sean Brady, the ULL Ragin' Cajun Invitational was cancelled as the state of Louisiana continues to recover from the aftermath of Hurricane Gustav.
The first three meets of the Lions' and Lady Lions' cross country season has been lost due. Last Friday's Tulane Invitational was cancelled as a mandatory evacuation of New Orleans began and Tuesday's McNeese State meet was washed out as the storm made landfall.
The two squads now face a long layoff before they resume action. Next up for Southeastern is the LSU Cross Country Festival on Sept. 27 in Baton Rouge.
