BATON ROUGE – Southern University quarterback Bryant Lee, Louisiana-Monroe linebacker Cardia Jackson and Southeastern punter Beau Mothe were named Monday as the Louisiana Sports Writers Association Players of the Week.

Lee, a senior from Lutcher, completed 29 of 39 passes for 384 yards and four touchdowns in the Jaguars’ 34-24 win over Southwestern Athletic Conference rival Alabama State. Lee, who surpassed Eric Randall's all-time passing yards mark (7,286), rushed for 44 yards and scored on a rushing touchdown for the Jaguars.

Jackson, a senior from Monroe, became the second Warhawk in as many weeks to set an all-time Sun Belt record. His season-high 15 tackles in ULM’s victory over Western Kentucky pushed his career total to a Sun Belt-record 365.

He has now recorded double digit tackles in five of the last six games and ranks 14th in the nation in tackles per game (10.1). Among all active players in NCAA, Jackson ranks second in career solo tackles and third in total tackles.

Mothe, a freshman from New Orleans, averaged 41.9 yards per punt on a season-high 11 attempts in Southeastern’s 41-10 loss to No. 15 Stephen F. Austin. The former Jesuit High product had a season-high 62 yard punt in the first quarter and placed three kicks inside the SFA 20-yard line.
