HAMMOND – The Southeastern Louisiana University men's basketball team will be one of eight teams to participate in the 2010 Carrs/Safeway Great Alaska Shootout, hosted by the University of Alaska Anchorage, UAA athletic director Dr. Steve Cobb announced.
Along with host Alaska Anchorage and Southeastern, squads from Arizona State, Ball State, Drake, Houston Baptist, St. John's, and Southern Utah will appear at Sullivan Arena for the 33rd annual college basketball tournament.
After one year as a six-team tournament, the event will revert to its traditional eight-team, bracket format in 2010. Next year's men's tourney is scheduled for Nov. 24-27, 2010.
