SAN ANTONIO, Texas – The Southeastern Louisiana men's tennis team will head to Texas this weekend for a pair of matches at the UTSA Tennis Center.
On Saturday, the Lions (6-5, 0-1 SLC) will look for its first Southland Conference victory of the season when it faces UTSA at 12 p.m. On Sunday, Southeastern will remain in San Antonio to face non-conference foe DePaul (12-5) at 12 p.m.
Southeastern dropped its league opener on Wednesday, falling to Texas-Pan American, 5-2. UTSA defeated Western Illinois, 7-0, in its last action.
At the top half of the singles draw, sophomore
Damien Cordoba leads the Lions with an 8-3 singles record. Sophomores
Stepan Siska (5-6) and
Julien Roussel (4-3) hold down the other top spots for the Lions.
Senior
Guillaume Capovin (8-3) has been the top performer at the bottom of the singles draw for Southeastern. Junior
Benjamin Enke (6-5) and sophomore
Jan Bezdecka (4-5) are the other top performers at the No. 4-6 positions for the Lions.
UTSA is led by Daniel Moreiras, who has a team-best 8-5 singles record. DePaul, which has been ranked as high as 50th in the nation, is led by Jose Mancada (12-3), Bartosz Jozwiak (10-5) and Austin Doerner (10-7).
Following this weekend's action, Southeastern will head to Mobile, Ala. to face Troy in a neutral site match on Wednesday at 2 p.m.
