BEAUMONT, Texas – The Southeastern Louisiana men’s tennis team dropped its regular season finale to No. 51 Texas A&M-Corpus Christi in a neutral site Southland Conference match at the Cardinal Courts on the Lamar campus Sunday afternoon.
The Lions (11-9, 3-3 SLC) had their five-match win streak snapped by the Islanders. A&M-Corpus Christi clinched the Southland Conference regular season title with the victory, improving to 11-8 overall and 5-0 in SLC play.
In doubles play, the Southeastern No. 3 team of freshman

Julien Roussel (4-1) earned an 8-7 (7-2) victory over James Langford and David Pace. However, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi earned wins at the top two positions to take the doubles point.
In singles action, Cordoba improved to 13-7 overall with a 2-6, 6-4, 6-3 victory over Jose Zunino at the No. 4 position. Unfortunately for the Lions, the Islanders won the remaining five singles matches in straight sets.
Southeastern will compete in the Southland Conference Tournament beginning on Friday in Corpus Christi, Texas. The league office will release the official brackets upon the completion of the regular season on Monday.
