HAMMOND – The Southeastern Louisiana men's tennis team will return to action on Friday, hosting Southland Conference rival Lamar at 2 p.m. at the Southeastern Tennis Complex.

The Lions (7-8, 1-2 SLC) will be looking to move to .500 in both overall and SLC play. Lamar (7-7. 0-1 SLC) visits Hammond in search of its first league victory.

Southeastern picked up a key victory on Wednesday, edging SLC and in-state rival Nicholls State, 4-3. With wins in both singles and doubles play, Lion sophomore Julien Roussel (5-3) keyed the Southeastern victory, helping the team end a four-game losing skid and earn its first league win.

Roussel and sophomore Damien Cordoba (9-6) are the top performers in the top half of the singles draw. Southeastern sophomore Stepan Siska (5-10) mans the No. 1 singles position for the Lions.

At No. 5, senior Guillaume Capovin boasts a team-best 11-4 singles mark. Capovin, junior Benjamin Enke (8-7) and sophomore Jan Bezdecka (6-7) occupy the bottom three singles slots. Bezdecka has a team-best 3-0 mark in SLC singles matches. Enke and Siska (5-3) are the team's top doubles pairing.

Lamar is led in singles play by Marton Horvath, who is 9-5 this spring. Maciej Bogusz (8-6), Richard Filuka (8-6) and Diego Snyder (7-6) are the other top Cardinal singles performers. Snyder and Mario Janjic lead LU with an 8-2 doubles mark.

Following Friday's match, the Lions will head to Lorman, Miss. for a pair of non-conference matches on Tuesday. The Lions will face Alcorn State at 10 a.m. and Jackson State at 2:30 p.m.
