Playing its first game at home since the beginning of the spring semester, Southeastern (10-8, 2-3 Southland) looks to snap a three-game losing streak after opening league play with impressive wins over Lamar and Northwestern State. In their last game in the University Center, the Lions dropped an 84-79 decision that snapped a 10-game homecourt win streak that dated back to last season.

The Lions played their last two games on the road, falling to McNeese State (71-67) and defending Southland champion Stephen F. Austin (62-51).

Senior Patrick Sullivan, who scored a game-high 20 points against SFA, is Southeastern’s top scorer (14.4 ppg.) and rebounder (8.2 rpg.) while leading the Southland Conference in blocked shots.

Damon Forest (11.7) is next in scoring for the Lions, who are 8-1 and averaging nearly 84 points per game on their home court. Trent Hutchin (9.6), Brandon Fortenberry (8.6) and Gary Dixon (8.4) are next in scoring for Southeastern while Rodney Jones (6.9) and Robert Tibbs (6.8) following.

UCA (7-12, 1-4 Southland) opened league play with three consecutive losses before securing a 64-50 win over Nicholls last week. The Bears dropped a 68-53 decision to McNeese State on Saturday and have lost seven of their last nine.

Tadre Sheppard leads UCA in scoring (12.2) and rebounds (8.0) and ranks among the top players in the Southland Conference in field goal shooting (59.5 percent) and blocked shots (29).

Chris Poellnitz (12.1) and Mitch Rueter (11.1) are next in scoring for UCA, which averages 63.7 points per game and are third in the Southland in scoring defense (65.8).

Southeastern leads the all-time series, 5-1, and is 3-0 against UCA at home. The Lions swept the season series in 2008-09 claiming a 75-64 win on the road before a 98-61 victory in last season’s home finale.
