MONROE – Southeastern Louisiana sophomore Morgane Dadot and freshman Camille Pilon picked up singles victories, but the Lady Lions dropped a 5-2 decision to Louisiana-Monroe in non-conference women's tennis action Saturday afternoon at Heard Stadium.

The Lady Lions were returning from a 12-day layoff and fell to 1-3 overall. Louisiana-Monroe took two of three doubles matches and the remaining four singles matches to run its undefeated mark to 4-0 this spring.

“We played hard today, but we need to execute better,” Southeastern head coach Jason Hayes said. “We can't make the mistakes we did today and expect to beat a good team like ULM.”

In doubles play, Dadot and sophomore Audrey Chelini defeated Lena Satge and Sidney Bruscato, 8-3, at No. 1. ULM rebounded to take the doubles point with 8-1 wins at the bottom two positions.

At No. 4, Dadot improved to 3-0 in dual match singles play with a 7-6, 6-3 win over Monica Winkel. Pilon picked up her first career singles victory at No. 1, defeating Bruscato, 6-4, 6-3.

However, ULM took the match with straight set wins at the No. 2, 5 and 6 positions. At No. 1, Satge rallied from a set down to defeat Chelini, 3-6, 6-4, 11-9.

The Lady Lions will be back in action on Sunday, facing Jackson State at 12 p.m. in Jackson, Miss.
