HAMMOND – The Southeastern Louisiana women’s tennis team will take its first road trip of the spring on Saturday, heading to Tulane for a 1 p.m. non-conference match.

Southeastern heads into the match with a 1-0 overall record after opening the season with a 7-0 win over Alcorn State on Sunday. Tulane is 1-1 and will be playing for the first time since a 4-2 win over Texas Tech on Jan. 23.

The Lady Lions swept all six singles matches in Sunday’s win over ASU. Sophomore Audrey Chelini, freshman Nina Schmied and sophomore Morgane Dadot held down the top three spots in the singles draw. Sophomore Annika Hanke, freshman Isabel Brito and freshman Alexandra Lindahl were at the bottom of the draw.

In doubles play, Chelini and Dadot are the team’s No. 1 doubles duo. On Sunday, Schmeid and freshman Camille Pilon were the No. 2 team, while Hanke and sophomore Mia Hagiu played at No. 3.
The Lady Lions were victories at the top two positions.

Sophomore Mariam Kurdadze and freshman Emma Levy lead Tulane with 2-0 records in singles play. The Green Wave have yet to play a doubles match this spring, but sophomores Marcela Fonseca and Caroline Gerber combined for a team-best 6-2 record as a pair during the fall.

Following Saturday’s match, Southeastern will return to the Big Easy for a 2 p.m. match at UNO. Saturday’s match opens a stretch that will see the Lady Lions play 10 straight road matches.
