FRISCO, Texas – Southeastern Louisiana University’s
Patrick Sullivan has been named the Southland Conference men’s basketball player of the week, the league office announced Sunday. It is the second time this season he has been honored.
Sullivan, a 6-foot-9 senior from Orlando, Fla., recorded his 21st career double-double with 24 points and 17 rebounds in an 86-77 win over Northwestern State on Saturday.
Sullivan, who earned Southland Player of the Week honors for the second time this season, was 7-of-13 from the floor and made all 10 of his free-throw attempts in his final game in the University Center. He also blocked five shots to increase his school-record season total to 94.
With 13 points, seven rebounds and three blocks in a 60-59 win over McNeese State last Wednesday, he averaged 18.5 points and 12.0 rebounds for the week.
He moved into eighth-place on the school’s all-time scoring list and has 1,252 career points entering this week’s State Farm Southland Conference Tournament in Katy, Texas.
Southeastern (18-11) will be No. 4 seed in their seventh consecutive tournament appearance and will face No. 5-seeded Texas State (15-15) in an 8:30 p.m. contest on Wednesday at the Merrell Center.
