Hebert Named LSWA Hitter Of The Week

Freshman picks up first weekly honor after leading Lions at plate

Brock Hebert hit .688 with two home runs and eight RBI in four games last week
BATON ROUGE – Second baseman Brock Hebert of Southeastern Louisiana and pitcher Dustin Lloyd of McNeese State were named Tuesday as the Louisiana Sportswriters Association Baseball Players of the Week.

Hebert, a product of Bourg, La., was named Hitter of the Week as the true freshman extended his hitting streak to a season-high 12 games with a 2-for-3 performance against UT Arlington. He extended his streak with a two-run home run to help No. 22 Southeastern to a 6-0 victory and series win over the Mavs.

Hebert recorded the first four-hit game of his career in an 11-5 win on Saturday, adding an RBI and run scored and a stolen base. He went 3-for-4 with two RBI against UTA on Friday and was 9-for-12 (.750) in the three-game series.

Lloyd, a junior right-hander from Friendswood, Texas, was named Pitcher of the Week as he fired a complete-game victory over Sam Houston State. The effort was Lloyd's third complete game of the season as he allowed one run on eight hits with no walks and seven strikeouts.
