Jeramie Marek added an RBI single in the inning that gave A&M-CC a 4-0 lead. Matt Holland added a two-run single in the second before Montgomery followed with an RBI single that gave the Islanders a 7-0 advantage.

Southeastern chipped away at the lead, scoring three times in the fourth to cut the deficit to 7-3. Jeff Harkensee led off the inning when he was hit by a pitch, moved to second after Cody Gougler drew a walk and scored two batters later on a groundout by Brock Hebert.

Josh Cryer drove in Gougler with a bunt single and later scored when Philip Freeman hit a single through the left side.

A&M-CC capitalized on three Southeastern errors in the bottom half of the inning to take a 10-3 lead. Trey Hernandez drove in Caleb Marx with a single to left, and moved to third on a two-base error that also allowed Chris Vergne to score all the way from first. Montgomery added an RBI single to center that scored Hernandez, who went 2-for-5 and scored twice.

Freeman, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI, added an RBI double in the eighth and scored on a single by Chris Ernest.
