BATON ROUGE - Southeastern Louisiana University head baseball coach
Jay Artigues, will be participating in the "Softball for Soldiers" celebrity softball game in Baton Rouge. The charity softball game, presented by Bevel Tech Group, will be played on Friday (July 16) at the Oak Villa Softball Complex in Baton Rouge.
First pitch is scheduled for 6:30pm.
The event, which is being put on by WAFB-TV sports anchor Jacques Doucet, will feature many celebrities in the Baton Rouge and New Orleans area including Ben McDonald, Joe Horn, Ricky Blanton, Trent Johnson, Baton Rouge Mayor Kip Holden, former LSU basketball great Rudy Macklin and many others.
All proceeds from the game go to "Support Our War Heroes" to benefit wounded warriors from Louisiana and the Gulf Coast (visit
www.supportourwarheroes.org). $10 donation for adults and $5 donation for kids 12 and under.
