WICHITA, Kan. – Current Southeastern Louisiana University golfer
Horacio Leon has played more than his share of rounds with his older brother, Hugo, but the siblings shared a special weekend as they each competed in the Preferred Health Systems Wichita Open that wrapped up on Sunday at the Crestview Country Club.
Horacio Leon, who will enter his junior season at Southeastern, qualified as an amateur in the event and posted rounds of 72 and 75 before missing the cut. He birdied at No. 18 in both rounds and recorded par on 26 of 38 holes.
Hugo Leon, who turned professional in 2007 and competed in the U.S. Open earlier this summer, finished at 4-under-par for the tournament after opening with rounds of 71 and 66 that included a combined 11 birdies. Leon concluded the 72-hole tournament with rounds of 70 and 73.
