HAMMOND – Southeastern Louisiana cross country runner Joseph LeGrange was named to the All-Louisiana team Saturday by the Louisiana Sports Writers Association.

LeGrange, a sophomore from Baton Rouge, La. (Redemptorist HS), recorded the best finish by a Lion in all five of Southeastern's 2011 meets. At the McNeese State Cross Country Relays, he combined with teammate Paul Arthur to finish fifth overall.

LeGrange's highest individual finish came at both the Auburn Inivitational and the McNeese Cowboy Stampede. He placed 19th in both events.

This marks the second year in a row that LeGrange was honored by the LSWA. In 2010 he was named the Men's Cross Country Freshman of the Year.

Louisiana-Monroe picked up a pair of 2011 awards as Daniel Mutai was named the Men's Cross Country Runner of the Year and James Malone was named Coach of the Year. McNeese State's Alex Bruce-Littlewood was voted Newcomer of the Year and Xavier's Kwame Jackson was voted Freshman of the Year.

On the women's side Tulane's Paige Callahan, Xavier's Zahri Jackson, McNeese's Amy Talbot and Joseph Moses claimed individual honors.
