HAMMOND, La. – Team Grizz stayed perfect in the Heart of the Lion World Series, scoring three runs in the bottom of the ninth Thursday for a 5-4 come-from-behind victory over the Rougaroux.

Down 4-2 with one out in the ninth, Corey Bryan got on base after being hit with a Buck Bernard pitch. Bryan advanced to second on a wild pitch and to third on a Ben Hernandez single. Harry Slade brought Team Grizz (4-0) within a run with his third RBI-single of the game.

The Rougaroux (0-4) went to the bullpen for freshman Mason Klotz, but Aaron Haag greeted him with an infield single to load the bases. Klotz induced Gabe Woods to ground out, but Hernandez scored from third to tie the game. Freshman Daniel Midyett followed with an RBI-single to right-center field to plate the winning run.

Sophomore Tanner Rainey (1-0) picked up the win in relief while Bernard (0-2) suffered the loss. Team Grizz starter Tate Scioneaux did not factor in the decision despite allowing a single run in five innings of work.

The series concludes Friday at 1 p.m. at Pat Kenelly Diamond at Alumni Field. Admission is free. Fans that can't make it out to the ballpark can watch the game on LionVision (subscription required) located in the fan zone of www.LionSports.net.
