HAMMOND – Southeastern Louisiana Athletics, in conjunction with the Hammond Square Mall and Northshore Broadcasting, will host the “Lions on the Square” event on Thursday in the Hammond Square Mall area.
 
The event will run from 6-8 p.m. The fanfare will be located across from Menchie's Frozen Yogurt with promotional materials, football ticket giveaways and the Kid's Zone. A live remote will be broadcast on Kajun 107.1 FM.
 
The featured portion of the event will be a parade down Palace Drive at 7 p.m. Members of the Southeastern football and men's basketball teams will participate in the parade and will be signing autographs following the parade.
 
Several Hammond Square businesses will be offering special deals in conjunction with the event. Menchie's will be giving out free yogurt samples and Menchie will be at the event. The Santa Fe Cattle Company will be serving $4 burger and fry plates, while Albasha will offer lunch prices for anyone with a Southeastern ID and two for one drink specials all night.
 
Nagoya Japanese Sushi Steakhouse will also participate, selling $3.50 Southeastern Midori Martinis and giving away a $25 gift card during the Kajun 107.1 FM remote. Anyone with a Southeastern ID will receive 15% off at East of Italy, where $2 beers, $5 wine and $5 martinis will be on sale.
