SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Southeastern Louisiana embarks on an eight-game road trip Friday with the opener of a Southland Conference series in San Antonio, Texas.

Last season, Southeastern swept a three-game conference series at UTSA.

The Lions (26-12, 11-7 Southland) have won four of their last five games after Wednesday's 13-1 win over Jackson State. Harry Slade, Brock Hebert and Jonathan Pace had two hits apiece as Southeastern pounded out eleven hits off Tiger pitching. Freshman right-hander Kyle Keller earned his first collegiate win with his six-inning outing.

Hebert (.403), Pace (.386) and Cody Gougler (.277) lead the Lions in hitting. Gougler's two home runs and 31 RBIs are team bests; Hebert is second in the nation with 29 stolen bases. Southeastern is hitting .273 as a team.

Freshman right-hander Andro Cutura (4-1, 2.85) is scheduled to start the opener against UTSA left-hander Casey Selsor (3-4, 4.76). Last time out, Cutura tossed the Lions' first complete game of the season en route to defeating Texas State.

Southeastern is second in the conference standings entering the weekend, four games behind first-place Sam Houston State. UTSA (16-21, 6-12 Southland) is at the bottom of the standings.

The Roadrunners defeated future Southland Conference member Houston Baptist Tuesday, 11-1. Selsor and Daniel Rockett drove in three runs apiece. Ryan Dalton had three hits for UTSA.

Selsor (.336), Dalton (.329) and RJ Perucki (.272) lead the Roadrunners in hitting. Dalton leads the team with six home runs and 28 RBIs; Selsor has a team-best 11 stolen bases. UTSA is hitting .279 as a team.

A pair of southpaws are slated to throw Saturday at 2 p.m. Junior Jordan Hymel (5-2, 2.59)  heads to the hill for the Lions and will be opposed by UTSA's Michael Kraft (6-3, 4.25). Neither team has announced a starter for Sunday's 1 p.m. finale.

Southeastern finally returns home for a three-game conference series against Stephen F. Austin, May 4-6, at Pat Kenelly Diamond at Alumni Field.
