Live Statistics

MADISON, Miss. – Philipp Westermann and Baptiste Courtachon each fired a 2-under-par 70 and the Southeastern Louisiana University golf team recorded a team round of 284 to finish in fifth-place after the first round of the fifth annual BancorpSouth Intercollegiate at Reunion Golf and Country Club.

Thunderstorms in the area forced the tournament to be suspended midway through the second round, forcing officials to shorten the tournament to 36 holes. Final round action will begin on Tuesday at 10 a.m. Live statistics, courtesy of GolfStat.com, are available at www.LionSports.net.

Starting on the back nine, Westermann birdied two of his first five holes and three of his first 10 before recording bogeys at No. 2 and 10. The junior capped off his round with a birdie at No. 9 and was 2-under in the second round before play was suspended.

Courtachon, a late replacement to the lineup for Southeastern, was 1-over on the back nine but sizzled on the front as he recorded birdies at No. 1, 4, 6 and 8. Rhys West and freshman Grady Brame each recorded an even-par 72 in the opening round for the Lions while freshman Santiago Mejia shot a 2-over 74.

Austin Moix and David Morago of Central Arkansas each recorded rounds of 5-under 67 to join Calvin Pearson of Wichita State as the first round leaders.

Wichita State, ranked No. 35 nationally by GolfStat, posted a team score of 276 to take the lead after the first round, four strokes ahead of No. 20 UCF and six in front of UCA. UAB (283) and No. 67-ranked Southeastern (284) rounded out the top five with Middle Tennessee (285), host Ole Miss (285), Memphis (285), South Alabama (291) and Mississippi State (291) rounding out the top 10 in the 16-team field.
