HAMMOND – Southeastern Louisiana senior guard Kelli Jenkins was named to the 2011-12 Louisiana Sports Writers Association All-Louisiana Women's Basketball Collegiate Teams, which were announced by the LSWA on Saturday.
 
Jenkins, a Plaquemine native, was named to the team as an honorable mention selection. The honor was the second of the postseason for the Lady Lion point guard, who was named to the All-Southland Conference third team last month.
 
Jenkins' play was a key part of Southeastern rebounding from an 0-5 start to league play to make its fourth straight trip to the Southland Conference Tournament. She finished among the league leaders in scoring (11.2 ppg, 17^th) and assists (4.5 apg, 2^nd).
 
She scored in double figures in 20 games, including a career-high 26 points in a near upset of then-No. 20 Texas. She also had double-doubles against in-state foes Nicholls State (19 points, 11 assists) and Northwestern State (13 points, 10 assists).
 
With 18 points in the season-ending loss to McNeese State in the first round of the Southland Conference Tournament, Jenkins became the 17^th student-athlete in program history to reach 1,000 career points. She also finished her career ranking among the school's career leaders in assists (452, 4^th) and games played (119, 2^nd).
 
The LSWA teams are selected by the state's media and sports information directors.
