HAMMOND – The Southeastern Louisiana baseball team will participate in the Southland Conference Baseball Tournament, while eight members of the Lion and Lady Lion track and field teams will compete in the NCAA Outdoor East Preliminary Round during this week in Southeastern Athletics.
The Lions (36-19) are the second seed in the league tournament, which runs Wednesday through Saturday at Bobcat Ballpark in San Marcos, Texas. Southeastern will open tournament play with a 7 p.m. contest on Wednesday versus Central Arkansas. Depending on Wednesday's result, Southeastern will play at 12 p.m. or 7 p.m. on Thursday. Saturday's championship game will be played at either 1 p.m. or 5 p.m. depending on how many games are necessary to get down to the final two teams. The winner of the tournament receives an automatic berth into the NCAA Championships.
All of this week's Southeastern baseball games will be broadcast live in the Hammond area on KSLU-FM (90.9) and on the Internet at
www.LionSports.net. A live video stream of the entire tournament will be available via SLC NOW on
