HAMMOND – Nathan Stanley and
Brian Young each went 8-for-14 through the air while freshman
Brandon Snell caught eight passes for 87 yards and a touchdown to lead the Southeastern Louisiana University football team in its first scrimmage of fall camp on Saturday at Strawberry Stadium.
Stanley, who transferred to Southeastern from SEC member Ole Miss last season, overcame a slow start as he completed five of his final six attempts to finish with 87 yards and a pair of TDs. The senior quarterback connected with Snell on a 10-yard TD pass before finding
Jarrett Johnson on a 21-yard scoring pass on his final attempt of the night.
Young, last year's starting quarterback, finished with 101 yards that included a 24-yard scoring pass to
Carl Pearson. The former Hahnville High product tossed a pair of interceptions, including one to former St. Aug product
Marice Sutton, who ran it back 60 yards for a TD.
Snell, a freshman who originally committed to Louisville, made the most in his Lions' debut.
Stanley Moore caught three passes for 29 yards, including a diving 20-yard grab that set up the Lions' final touchdown of the night.
Sam Fairley rushed four times for 44 yards that included a 40-yard TD sprint on his first carry of the night.
Blaine LeBlanc recorded 20 yards on five carries while
Zeke Jones and
Jordan Wells ran for 18 and 15 yards, respectively.
Seth Sebastian and
Ryan Adams each booted 36-yard field goals while former Jesuit product
Beau Mothe averaged 49 yards on a pair of punts.
Defensively, Texas Tech transfer

Kaleb Muse recorded a team-high five tackles with
Tay Alford and
Scott Korte adding four each. Sutton and
