HAMMOND – The unbeaten Southeastern Louisiana women's tennis team will host a pair of non-conference matches this week at the Southeastern Tennis Complex.
The Lions (11-0) will open their season-long eight-match home stand on Tuesday with a 4 p.m. match versus Youngstown State (7-5). No. 63 Virginia Tech (10-2) visits on Wednesday for a 6 p.m. match. Southeastern students will receive free food at Wednesday's match courtesy of Southeastern Athletics.
Southeastern opened conference play on the road last week. On Friday, the Lions blanked Oral Roberts, 7-0, before closing a successful week of league play with a 6-1 victory at Central Arkansas on Saturday.
The Lions enter the midweek matches with a 58-7 dual match singles record as a team. Freshman

Isabel Brito (8-0) and sophomore
Adriana Castillo (3-0) have all yet to lose in 2013. Freshman
Reginka Nychytailova (10-1), junior

Sarah Kriem (6-1) have also been impressive for the Lions.
In doubles play, Southeastern has a 19-1 record this spring. Castillo and Villarreal have paired for a team-best 8-0 record, while Kriem and Nychytailova are 7-0 as a pairing.
Youngstown State heads to Hammond with a 7-5 record. YSU lost to Idaho, 4-3, on Sunday.
Virginia Tech is the first nationally-ranked opponent Southeastern has faced this spring. Tea Ivanovic and Raluca Mita are the top singles players with 7-2 records. Ivanovic and Carol Kahoun have paired for a team-best 7-4 doubles mark.
The Lions will return to Southland Conference play on Saturday, hosting McNeese State at 12 p.m. at the Southeastern Tennis Complex.
