HAMMOND – The Southeastern Louisiana women's tennis team will look to remain unbeaten in Southland Conference play this weekend when it hosts a pair of Southland Conference rivals at the Southeastern Tennis Complex.
The Lions (12-1, 2-0 Southland) open the weekend by welcoming McNeese State (8-4, 0-0 Southland) to Hammond on Saturday. Lamar (4-6, 0-0 Southland) visits on Sunday. First serve for both matches is set for 12 p.m.
Southeastern will be looking to bounce back from its first loss of 2013 on Wednesday night. Lion freshman
Renee Villarreal remained undefeated in singles play, but Southeastern dropped a 6-1 decision to No. 63 Virginia Tech.
The Lions enter the weekend with a 62-15 team record in singles play this season. Villarreal leads the team with an 11-0 record, while freshman

Sarah Kriem (6-2), junior
Valya Rusakova (8-5) and sophomore
Adriana Castillo (3-1) all feature winning singles marks.
In doubles play, Southeastern is 21-3 thus far this spring. Castillo and Villarreal lead the team in wins with a 9-1 record. Kriem and Nychytailova are undefeated with a 7-0 record, while Rusakova and Tokareva have teamed for a 4-1 mark.
Both McNeese State and Lamar travel to south Louisiana this weekend to open league play. The Cowgirls feature Klaudia Gawlik, who is a perfect 12-0 at No. 1 singles this spring. On Sunday, Southeastern will look to avenge last season's 7-0 loss to Lamar, which opens Southland play on Saturday at Nicholls.
After the weekend's action, Southeastern will continue its eight-match home stand next Saturday, hosting Alcorn State at 11 a.m. and Jackson State at 6 p.m. at the Southeastern Tennis Complex.
