HAMMOND, La. – Southeastern Louisiana University volleyball coach Geno Frugoli announced Thursday the signing of California-native
Rachael Bunn to a National Letter of Intent to continue her academic and athletic endeavors as a member of the Lady Lions' program.
A six-foot-one middle blocker from San Juan Capistrano, Calif., Bunn joins early signees
Landry Bullock,
Lindsay Grace and
Parrie Hartley as well as Louisiana Tech transfer
Tiffany Thomas in the 2013 class of newcomers.
"I'm very excited to add Rachael to an already strong recruiting class,” Frugoli said. “She is a near perfect student and comes from arguably the volleyball Mecca of the world. Her experience and athleticism makes our team better today before she even steps on the floor."
A two-time All-League player and three-time scholar athlete, Bunn recorded a .390 attacking percentage and 1.4 blocks per set in 2013 at Dana Hills High School. Her blocking average led the league and was the third-best in Southern California.
Southeastern has two tournaments remaining in its spring exhibition schedule. The Lady Lions travel Sunday to Auburn and wrap up the slate Thursday at Southern Miss.
