HAMMOND, La. – Southeastern Louisiana University's Friday baseball game against Sam Houston State has been rained out.
Heavy rainstorms in Louisiana forced the rescheduling of the entire Southland Conference series.
Southeastern (30-19, 13-8 Southland) and Sam Houston (31-17, 15-6 Southland) will play a single game Saturday at 4 p.m. The series concludes Sunday with a doubleheader beginning at 11:45 a.m.
Senior Day ceremonies will take place prior to Sunday's first game. Pat Kenelly Diamond at Alumni Field will be cleared between games of the doubleheader and fans will need separate tickets for admission. Friday's tickets will be honored for the series finale.
The Lions enter the weekend tied with Oral Roberts and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, two games behind the first-place Bearkats with six left to play. Oral Roberts hosts McNeese State and A&M-Corpus Christi hosts Lamar in other key conference action.
Southeastern, which has clinched a spot in the Southland Conference Tournament, wraps up the regular season, May 16-18, at McNeese State. The conference tournament is scheduled for May 22-25 at Constellation Field in Sugar Land, Texas.
