Lion freshman thrower makes immediate impact

The 2013-14 Southeastern Athletics season will officially begin in early August when the football, volleyball, soccer and cross country teams report to campus. In preparation for the upcoming year, LionSports.net takes one last look at the 2012-13 season, counting down the top 13 moments in Southeastern Athletics from the previous year.

The countdown continues with No. 10, as we look back at a new face on the Southeastern track team that made an immediate impact.

On June 30, Southeastern Louisiana freshman Misha Frazier was honored as the state's freshman of the year by the Louisiana Sports Writers Association. The state track sports information/media relations personnel voted in the special awards categories, although they could not vote for their athletes.The Kenner, La., freshman honoree, Frazier, earned All-Southland Conference honors after placing third in the women's hammer throw and fourth in the javelin at the league championships. She also had a second and two third-place finishes during the outdoor campaign in the javelin.
