Natchitoches, Louisiana – The Southeastern Louisiana University women's cross country teams placed 9
th, while the men's teams placed 11
th in the 2014 Southland Conference Cross Country Championships on Monday.
Turning in the top Lady Lion time of 21:26.9, freshman
Celia Zaeringer placed 12
th overall, earning Southland Conference honorable mention honors. The top-15 finishers in each race earned all-conference honors. The top five finishers earned first-team honors, while the next five finishers were named to the second team. The 11th through 15th finishers earned honorable mention all-conference honors.
"Celia did great," said head coach
Sean Brady. "For her to come out and do what she did as a freshman is incredible. She is the top distance runner from Louisiana that is competing in our conference."

"For the men, the team average was 26:59," said Brady. "That is a huge improvement from where we began this season."

"It was a great day to run and the course was fast," said Brady. "I think we performed well. It just happened to be a very tough group this year. We are a young team, and we're anxious to see the possibilities that are going to come in the next few years.
