BATON ROUGE, La. – Southeastern Louisiana continues its daily grind against ranked opponents Wednesday, traveling to face No. 5-ranked LSU at 6:30 p.m. in Alex Box Stadium.
The Lions (26-11) are wrappping up a stretch of five-consecutive games against ranked opponents, falling at No. 21-ranked South Alabama, 2-1 on April 12, and taking 1-of-3 from No. 22-ranked UL Lafayette this past weekend.
The game against LSU (25-11) can be heard in the Hammond area on KSLU 90.9 FM, online and through the TuneIn Radio app (search for KSLU). Fans can also keep up with the games through live statistics or by following SLUathletics on Twitter.

Five everyday players are hitting .300 or better for the Lions, including
Jameson Fisher (.462),
Drew Avans (.333),
Carson Crites (.322),
Brennan Breaud (.310) and
Ryan Byers (.303). Fisher also leads the squad with nine home runs and 41 RBIs. Southeastern is hitting .289 as a team, with 58 doubles, 13 triples, 32 home runs and 68 stolen bases.
Fisher, the Lions' first baseman, is the top offensive threat in the nation, leading college baseball in both batting average and on-base percentage (.587). The junior from Zachary, Louisiana, ranks fifth nationally, with six sacrifice flies, and sixth with an .769 slugging percentage.
Southeastern's pitching staff enters the game with a 2.44 ERA, the fourth-lowest in the nation, and has fanned 310 batters through 324.1 innings of work. Opponents are hitting .219 off Lion pitching.
Senior right-hander
Pat Cashman (3-2, 4.91) draws the starting assignment for Southeastern. Sophomore righty Doug Norman (0-0, 3.86) will be making his first start of the season for the Tigers.
LSU's pitching staff enters the game with a 4.10 ERA, having fanned 327 batters in 323 innings of work. Opponents are hitting .258 off Tiger pitching.
Eight everyday players are hitting .300 or better for LSU, including Antoine Duplantis (.366), Beau Jordan (.344), Jake Fraley (.338) and Jordan Romero (.324). Romero leads the squad with six home runs and Jordan has driven in a team-best 33 runs this season.
The Tigers are hitting .303 as a team, with 61 doubles, 14 triples, 24 home runs and 64 stolen bases.
Southeastern travels to Lake Charles, Louisiana, this coming weekend for a three-game, Southland Conference series at in-state rival McNeese State. Friday's 6 p.m. series opener will be televised once again by Cox Sports Television and will be available on ESPN3 outside the CST viewing area.
