TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Southeastern Louisiana University softball team continued its 21-game road swing with a 10-4 victory over Florida A&M Wednesday evening at the University Softball Complex.
SLU improved to 13-2 overall with the victory, while the host Rattlers fell to 6-10 overall.
Lexi Johnson hit her third home run of the season, as she and
Maria Detillier both finished 3-for-4 on the night to fuel an 11-hit attack.
Madison Rayner chipped in two hits, as she,
Bailey Krolczyk,
Maddie Watson,
Maddie Leal and
Colleen Kulivan each drove in runs.
Detillier led SLU with three runs scored.
Cam Goodman came home twice, while Rayner, Johnson,
Blaire Bizette and
Ka'Lyn Watson each scored once.
Mary-Cathryn (MC) Comeaux (3-0) struck out three in four innings of work to earn the circle.
Lainee Bailey came into the game with SLU nursing a 5-3 lead and threw 2.1 innings of relief to earn her first career save.
Southeastern will remain in the Sunshine State to compete in The Spring Games in Madeira Beach, Florida. SLU's tournament slate includes games versus UAlbany (Friday, 11:30 a.m.), Georgetown (Friday, 2 p.m.), Central Michigan (Saturday, 9 a.m.), Yale (Saturday, 11:30 a.m.) and LIU (Sunday, 10:30 a.m.).
