2008 (Junior): Hit .285 with three home runs and 19 RBI in 56 games (51 starts) ... Got off to a slow start, hitting just .122 (5-for-41) through his first 13 games ... Recovered to hit .331 (48-for-145) in his final 43 contests with 17 RBI ... Recorded a run-scoring single for his first hit as a Lion in an opening day win over Eastern Illinois on Feb. 22 ... Posted 14 multi-hit contests, including five three-hit games and nine two-hit games ... Posted a career-best five-game hitting streak, going 11-for-19 (.579 BA) with a home run, a triple, three RBI and six runs scored from April 20-26 ... Hit safely in 26-of-35 games from March 28 through the end of the season on May 24 ... Went 6-for-17 (.353 BA) with a double, three RBI and four runs in five games at the 2008 Southland Conference Tournament .. Made a pair of appearances on the mound, holding Southern Miss scoreless on one hit while striking out three on April 30 and allowed a pair of runs on three hits over 1.0 IP on May 6 at Alcorn State.

Spent 2006-07 at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College in Perkinston, Miss. ... Pitched and played outfield for the Bulldogs and was named captain of the 2007 squad ... Picked up All-State honors twice and was named a 2007 Junior College All-American.

High School: Was a four-year standout at Pearl River HS ... Was a four-time all-district honoree and two-time district MVP ... Garnered all-state accolades three times.

Personal: The youngest of four children, his siblings are: Robert (25), Stephanie (24) and Brian (24) ... Majoring in Kinesiology.
