Jon Haruguchi, who spent seven seasons in the Colorado club ranks, is in his first season as an assistant coach at Southeastern Louisiana University.
Haruguchi, a native of Honolulu, Hawaii and 1996 graduate of Colorado State, posted two stints with NORCO volleyball club, serving since 2004 as head and assistant coach with the Fort Collins, Colo.-based organization.
Haruguchi, who coached current Lady Lion Karyn DenBoer at the club level, served as an assistant on the NORCO 18-Black team, which took the silver medal at the Junior National Championships Open Division in 2001 and was an assistant coach with the club from 1997-2000.
He also served for two seasons as head girl’s volleyball coach at Poudre (Colo.) High School, taking the team to the district tournament both years.
Haruguchi, who earned his Master’s degree from the University of Hawaii, served in the 2000 spring campaign as a volunteer assistant at CSU and was a member of the CSU men’s club volleyball team from 1992-96.
