MONROE, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University beach volleyball team defeated Mary Hardin-Baylor, 4-1, Saturday on its way to splitting a pair of duals at the ULM Beach Invitational.
 
Southeastern (9-13) dropped its final matchup of the event, 4-1, to host ULM (8-15).
 
Against UMHB (5-20), the Beach Lions picked up straight-set wins to claim flights one through four. SLU's lone loss came at No. 5 in three sets.
 
The duo of Jolie Hidalgo and Meagan Scuderi earned a 21-9, 21-10 win in the first flight. Hannah Barosh and Michelle Mirarchi teamed up for a 21-9, 21-6 victory in the second flight.
 
Hannah Brewer and Jackie McGee hauled in a win in the third flight, 21-15, 21-14, while Avery Carroll and Ariana Hebert picked up a 21-14, 21-13 win in the fourth.
 
In the nightcap, Carroll and Hebert picked up Southeastern's lone point at No. 4 with a three-set win, 24-22, 21-23, 15-12. Falling just short in three sets again were Mabry Ward and Eryn Wilks, 21-18, 21-23, 15-13.
 
SLU heads to Jacksonville, Florida this coming weekend for a pair of duals against both North Florida and Jacksonville.
