HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University Beach Volleyball team opens its 2023 season this weekend, heading to Hattiesburg for the Hub City Beach Bash at the University of Southern Mississippi.
 
"We're excited for the opportunity to build on what we feel was a successful first full season last year," said SLU head volleyball coach Jeremy White. "We are returning four athletes who won 20 games and we feel like the group that joined us this year is only going to add to our success."
 
The action kicks off at noon on Saturday as the Lady Lions opens serve against Spring Hill College, the first of three matches on the opening day. That follows with a 2 p.m. match against Tennessee-Chattanooga. Day one ends at 6 p.m. when Southeastern takes on the home-standing Southern Miss Golden Eagles.
 
Day 2 currently has one match scheduled, a 3 p.m. contest against William Carey to wrap up the opening weekend of the beach volleyball season.
 
Southeastern was picked sixth in the Southland Conference poll. Jolie Hidalgo and Meagan Scuderi, who were chosen to participate in the AVCA Beach Championships over the fall, Eryn Wilks and Mia McKinney were named players to watch by the conference heading into the season.
 
DIGGIN' IT CLUB / S CLUB
Fans interested in becoming active supporters of the Southeastern volleyball program are encouraged to join the Diggin' It Club. Lion volleyball alums are encouraged to join the exclusive S Club, which is restricted to Southeastern athletic letter winners.
