HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University baseball team faces off against Southern Miss at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Pete Taylor Park in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.
 
It is the second meeting between the teams this season with the Golden Eagles (16-10) winning the earlier matchup against Southeastern (16-12) back on March 14 at Pat Kenelly Diamond at Alumni Field.

SLU will send right-hander Aaron Hosack (1-1, 4.22) to the mound. He will match up against Southern Miss sophomore right-hander Will Armistead (0-0, 5.40).
 
Southeastern's offense is led by Tyler Finke (.316), Shea Thomas (.286), Champ Artigues (.278) and Jake Killingsworth (.272). Rhett Rosevear ranks second in the nation in HBPs (18) while Finke ranks third nationally in stolen bases (24).
 
The Lions lead the nation in HBPs (79) and rank sixth in stolen bases (75).
 
Southeastern split four games this past week, defeating Mississippi Valley State, 2-1, and winning its Southland Conference series opener against UIW before dropping the final two games against the Cardinals.
 
The Golden Eagles are led by Slade Wilks (.326), Dustin Dickerson (.317) and Matthew Etzel (.292). Wilks also paces the squad with 10 home runs and 25 RBIs. Etzel leads the team with 11 stolen bases.
 
Southern Miss won its Sun Belt Conference series this past weekend at Troy, claiming the taking the opener and the finale against the Trojans.
 
UP NEXT
Southeastern will look to defend its Pontchartrain Bowl championship title this coming weekend with a three-game series against New Orleans at Maestri Field on the Lakefront. Games are scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Thursday, 6:30 p.m. Friday and 2 p.m. Saturday.
