BEAUMONT, Texas – The Southeastern Louisiana University softball team opened the Southland Conference portion of its schedule with a doubleheader sweep of Lamar Saturday afternoon at the LU Softball Complex.
Southeastern (22-6, 2-0 SLC) opened the day with a 6-2 victory. The Lady Lions completed the sweep with a 14-7 win over Lamar (9-21, 2-3 SLC) in the nightcap.
In the opener,
Maria Detillier,
Madison Rayner and
Lexi Johnson each had two hits to lead SLU. Johnson and
Audrey Greely each drove in two runs for Southeastern.
KK Ladner (6-1) earned the win, striking out four and allowing one earned run in six innings of work.
Ellie DuBois tossed a scoreless seventh to close out the win.
Southeastern scored five runs in both the fourth and seventh innings on the way to the doubleheader sweep. Greely was 3-for-3 with three runs scored, while Detillier also crossed the plate three times.
Bailey Krolczyk led the Lady Lions with two RBI.
Cera Blanchard (10-3) scattered six hits and allowed two earned runs in 5.1 innings of work in the circle to claim her 10
th win of the season.
